Recreational SCUBA diving certification training in the United States began in 1959 with the advent of the YMCA SCUBA Program offering the FIRST national SCUBA certifications.

 

For the last ten years, we have had the honor and privilege of running the

YMCA of Norwalk SCUBA Program.

 

Unfortunately, in 2009, the YMCA of the USA decided to celebrate the 50^th anniversary of YSCUBA by scuttling the whole program.

 

Even though we could no longer certify divers as YSCUBA, we carried on with our program, continuing to offer the finest quality SCUBA instruction to YMCA standards.

 

Due to the closing of the Norwalk Y, we are forced to discontinue the YSCUBA program.

 

We will go on as SCUBA Connecticut and the SO CT SCUBA MEETUP GROUP!
